Earning for Learning

1. Customers must present receipts to the mall’s Customer Service Center from any store, restaurant or the Cobb 16 Theatre at Merritt Square Mall. Qualifying receipts are on purchases made from August 15-September 15, 2008, ONLY, and MUST BE FROM a retailer at Merritt Square Mall.

2. Purchases made on Mondays and Wednesdays – not necessarily receipts that are turned in on Mondays and Wednesdays - qualify for double points. Promotional advertising or bonus points are NEVER eligible for double points unless otherwise stated on the advertising.  (i.e. a customer can turn in a receipt on Friday that is from a purchase made on Monday and earn double points.  A customer CANNOT earn double points for a receipt turned in on Monday that is from a purchase made on Saturday).

Merritt Square Mall Gift Card purchases count as double points during the promotion.

3. Receipts may only be used one time and will be marked when presented to the mall’s Customer Service Center. The receipt must be the original. Duplicate receipts, photocopies, faxes and Internet orders will not be accepted. All receipts must be redeemed by 9:00 pm on September 15, 2008.

4. Credit card payments, even if made to a store at the mall, will not be accepted for points either.

5. Store employees may not request, or copy, receipts from store customers in order to redeem them for points. Additionally, stores (or store employees) may not hold receipts to give to schools to redeem for points. Solicitation of stores by schools to hold receipts for such schools is also prohibited.

6. Receipts are only valid from Merritt Square Mall.

7. Each dollar spent equals 1 point. Any amount less than $.50 will be rounded down to the nearest dollar, and any amount equal to or greater than $.50 will be rounded up to the nearest dollar (Ex. $10.45 = 10 points and $10.56 = 11 points). Double points will be given if the purchase was made on a Monday or Wednesday, for Merritt Square Mall gift cards, and the receipt indicates as such.

8. The highest points per student ratio will determine the winning schools. The total number of points for each school is divided by the number of students enrolled in the school, and all schools regardless of size will start with a minimum student enrollment of 465. This is the average number of students per schools for the schools that participated in the 2007 program. Enrollment numbers will be provided by the schools.

9. The in–mall tote board will be updated weekly with the leading schools according to points only, point per student ratio will not be calculated until the final week and will not be posted in the mall.

10. Any public or private K-12, elementary, middle, or high school in Brevard County is eligible to participate. Pre-schools, colleges and other post–high school institutions are not eligible.

11. At the end of the promotion – the top ten schools with the highest points per student ratio will win cash prizes: 1st - $5,000, 2nd - $2,500, 3rd - $1,000, 4th - $500, 5th - $250, 6th - $200, 7th - $200, 8th - $150, 9th - $150, 10th - $150.

12. Merritt Square Mall’s Management Office will make the final decision regarding any dispute.

13. Merritt Square Mall reserves the right to refuse suspicious or fraudulent receipts, or any receipt transactions breaking the above rules.

14. Merritt Square Mall reserves the right to modify these rules at any time without notice.
